The doctors at Salinas Valley Orthopedics and Sports Medicine are dedicated to giving patients the kind of quality medical and surgical care that they would like to receive themselves. They strive to provide patients with state of the art diagnostic and surgical care. Each doctor attends seminars yearly and seeks out the best that orthopedic technology has to offer.

Many procedures are completed by your doctor in the office. Surgeries are performed at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital or the Salinas Surgery Center.
Thomas A. German, M.D.
Dr. German, a board certified orthopedic surgeon, has a general orthopedic practice with special focus on shoulder and upper extremity problems including impingement, rotator cuff tears, instability and arthritis. He is trained in advanced arthroscopic techniques for shoulder and knee problems. He has additional interest and training in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement as well as hand surgery.
Originally from Nebraska, Dr. German completed his undergraduate and medical schooling at Creighton University in Omaha. He graduated with honors and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, a national medical honor society. Upon completing his internship and his orthopedic residency training at Harbor U.C.L.A. Medical Center he was appointed as Clinical Instructor. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in hand surgery in Los Angeles. Upon completion of his training, Dr. German relocated to Salinas, California where he and Dr. William Parker established Salinas Valley Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in 1978.
Dr. German values a strong commitment to patient welfare, continuing medical education, and community involvement. He is currently Chairman of the Institutional Review Board at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. Previously, he served as Chief of Surgery at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and as team physician at Hartnell College. Dr. German is currently a staff member at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and the Salinas Surgery Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Monterey County Medical Society, California Orthopedic Association, and the California Medical Association.
Dr. German enjoys family centered activities including skiing and hiking. He also enjoys running and has completed several marathons.
William J. Parker, M.D.
Born in Northern California, Dr. Parker attended San Jose State University where he played water polo and attained All-American status. He graduated from Northwestern University Medical School in 1970 and was selected for Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society membership. Internship was completed at Harbor General Hospital in Torrance, California. Two years of general surgery residency at Harbor General and one year of research at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital in Downey, California followed. Orthopedic residency was completed at U.C.L.A. in 1978. Board certification in orthopedic surgery was awarded in 1979.
In 1978 he began private practice in Salinas with Dr. Tom German. This strong professional and personal relationship continues to this day, the nucleus of Salinas Valley Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.
Dr. Parker has had a strong commitment to the medical community and the quality thereof. He has held multiple appointments including Chief of Staff at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, Chief of Staff at Natividad Medical Center, President of the Monterey Medical Society, and team physician for Hartnell College.
His current practice is focused on joint reconstruction and arthroscopic procedures. Minimally invasive technique is utilized wherever appropriate. Dr. Parker is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Monterey County Medical Society and the California Orthopedic Association.
Dr. Parker is married to the love of his life, Carol, and has three daughters and four grandchildren. He enjoys swimming, skiing, backpacking, fly fishing and viniculture.
James M. Lin, M.D.
Dr. James M. Lin, MD is an orthopedic surgeon with a special interest in hand and upper extremity. Born and raised in upstate New York, he completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Dr. Lin then graduated from medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo, receiving his MD degree.
At the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, Dr. Lin completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery. He then pursued advanced training at Baylor by completing a fellowship in Plastics Hand Surgery. Endoscopic, arthroscopic and microsurgical techniques are among the unique solutions he is able to provide for a wide variety of orthopedic, hand and upper extremity conditions.
Dr. Lin enjoys a variety of outdoor activities and spending time with his wife and young twin boys. He is pleased to be a part of this exciting community.
Loyde B. Inlow, D.P.M.
Dr. Brian Loyde Inlow is a Board Certified Podiatrist specializing in disorders of the foot and ankle. He has extensive experience in ankle arthroscopy, reconstructive rear foot and flat foot surgery, calcaneal fracture repairs and diabetic wound care. He is currently a staff member at the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital Curative Wound Care Center and has medical privileges at both Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. He performs outpatient surgery at two ambulatory surgery centers in Monterey County as well.
Dr. Inlow also treats pediatric flat foot, ankle fractures, heel spur syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, fungal nails, and many other diseases of the foot and ankle.
Since opening his practice on the Monterey Peninsula, Dr. Inlow has expanded his office locations to service the entire Monterey County area, with offices in Monterey, South Salinas, and North Salinas.
His professional training includes a medical degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine and residency training in both podiatric and orthopedic medicine. He is Board Certified in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery and has been in practice for over 10 years.
He is married with a new baby and enjoys gardening, fishing, water and snow skiing, playing softball and basketball and is an avid collector of classic cars. |
